My name is Gisele McKaig, and I am excited to begin my collegiate volleyball recruitment journey. I currently play in the Ontario Volleyball Association, for Michelle Lange’s Forest City Volleyball Club 16U Sequoia team, where this season, we are focused on defending our OVA title and improving on our 4th place finish at Nationals. I am a versatile player with experience in all positions, however this year I am dedicating myself to becoming one of the top liberos in the province for my age group. I was also proud to represent Team Ontario White this past summer at Nipissing University.
In addition to indoor volleyball, I compete in beach volleyball and reached the Division 1 Tier 1 quarterfinals at the 15U Beach Provincials. I am also a multi-sport athlete, playing at the highest club levels in soccer and hockey, while balancing both club volleyball and high school athletics. At Chatham-Kent Secondary School, I was honored to be named Rookie Athlete of the Year as a Grade 9 student for my leadership and contributions across multiple sports.
Academics are just as important to me as athletics. Last year, I achieved a 94% average, taking a full academic course load with the goal of preparing myself for a top university or college.
I am motivated, competitive, and team-oriented, and I believe my combination of athletic versatility, leadership, and academic commitment makes me a strong candidate for a collegiate program. My ultimate goal is to contribute at the highest level, continue to grow as a player and a leader, and make an impact both on the court and in the classroom.
I have a 95% average from my academic classes since Grade 9.
